Tesla Supercharger Coming to Sandown in North Saanich
Looks like a much-need Tesla Supercharger is coming to Greater Victoria on Vancouver Island in British, Columbia, Canada.
Tesla’s future Supercharger roadmap said a new location was coming to Sidney, which is about 30 km north of Downtown Victoria. Now, according to @MarcoRPi1, the new Superchargers are set for the new Sandown Park Shopping Center, with 16 new stalls coming along McDonald Park Road.
Sandown used to be home to horse racing decades ago, but its current state is a Canadian Tire store, while next to it is the second phase of the shopping center’s expansion. A Red Barn supermarket is slated to open this summer as one of the anchor tenants, while a Dollarama is coming, alongside a liquor store and cannabis store, plus more.
It’s likely these will be Tesla’s newest V3 or V4 Superchargers. The only other Supercharger in Greater Victoria right now is located within Uptown Shopping Centre, which are older and slower urban chargers (in a terrible hard to find location on the main level parkade (enter in off Ravine Way and save yourself some headache).
This Supercharger at the new Sandown retail development is strategic—as it’s just minutes from B.C. Ferries and will allow travellers to juice up before leaving or just arriving on the island from Vancouver and beyond.
Also, if the Washington State Ferry ever launches up again (damn you COVID-19), it will also provide U.S. travellers a nearby Tesla Supercharger, just minutes away.
