After speculation of a new silver coming for Model S and Model X, with images seen of the apparent color at the company’s Fremont factory in California, Tesla has officially launched ‘Lunar Silver’ on Thursday evening (via @Tslachan).
Lunar Silver costs $2,500 extra, the same price as Ultra Red. Solid Black, Deep Blue Metallic and Pearl White Multi-Coat remain at $1,500, while Stealth Grey is the included color still. Lunar Silver according to Tesla is a metallic paint with a blue tint. It reminds us of Quicksilver, found on the Model Y.
Last week on May 18, the Kilowatts spotted a silver Model X and many thought it was Quicksilver coming to the flagship SUV. But now we know this was likely Lunar Silver in plain sight all along.
