Last month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the company’s current referral program would end globally on April 30, 2024.
Today, Tesla followed through by ending the current referral program. An inbox message to customers says, “the Tesla Referral Program has ended, but existing credits can still be redeemed. Ensure you’re on the latest version of the app to keep redeeming.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk clarified last month, “No, just that new credits would not be earned until we launch a future referral program, which is a few months away,” answering a question about whether existing credits will disappear or not.
It’s unclear what the new referral program will look like, but we should find out by the end of the summer. Then again, you never know what “Elon time” really is, so stay tuned.
