Watch: 1,000 Teslas Set Record Custom Light Show in Korea

tesla light show korea record

In an epic undertaking, Tesla owner known as @Hanteta_ orchestrated an ambitious custom Tesla light show in Suwon, South Korea, with 1,000 Tesla owners and their cars taking part to create a mesmerizing visual spectacle. This event looks to have easily beaten a previous light show that saw nearly 687 Tesla vehicles take place in Finland.

Unlike traditional light shows where each car displays the same sequence (such as a single song with coordinated lights), each Tesla in this unique display was equipped with its own custom USB stick, transforming each vehicle into a single pixel of the grand design. The show put on various messages and even showed all the logos of companies owned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk (including the Boring Company, xAI, SpaceX and more).

The meticulously planned event required the creation and distribution of 1,000 custom USB sticks, along with precise coordination to ensure all participants arrived and were organized effectively. The chosen venue for this massive undertaking was the parking lot of Suwon’s World Cup Stadium, a site renowned for its historical significance as one of the 2002 FIFA World Cup venues.

Participants and organizers faced the huge task of ensuring the venue was ready, including the removal of all long-term parking vehicles and the precise measurement of parking spaces to accommodate the elaborate setup. “We did a final check…and now everyone is going to take a break. See you tomorrow,” @Hanteta shared, highlighting the effort involved in preparing for the event.

The light show was divided into three distinct segments, each promising a unique experience. The first segment expanded on a concept from an official Tesla video, scaling up from five to 1,000 vehicles to create an even more impressive display. The second segment featured a medley that included the “Knight Rider” theme, music from the Optimus Unveil event, and other elements, optimized for an aerial view. The final segment blended Queen’s “We Will Rock You” with visuals emphasizing environmental themes, also designed to be viewed from above.

This event marked the first time a light show of such scale and complexity was attempted with Tesla vehicles, each contributing as an individual pixel to the overall display. @Hanteta acknowledged the uniqueness and challenges of the endeavor, expressing belief in its success as a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.
