Tesla Says Model Y Price Increases Coming in U.S. and Europe
Tesla announced on Friday it will be increasing the price of all Model Y trims in the United States on April 1, 2024.
“Prices in the US will increase by $1k for all Model Y trims on April 1st,” said Tesla on X.
Back on March 1, Tesla increased its prices back by $1,000 on the RWD and Long Range Model Y after offering a discount in February.
Now, on April 1, we will see RWD, Long Range and Performance prices go up by $1,000 to the following:
The price increases are not just for the U.S., as Tesla has also announced Europe will see Model Y prices go up in a “number of countries” on March 22. On March 15, Tesla increased the price of the Model Y in Canada.
Tesla seems to now be testing a strategy of informing potential customers of price increases, which can be a way to get people to place orders sooner, rather than later.
A promo right now offers up to 10,000 free Supercharging miles, for taking deliveries of a new Model Y by March 31. Cash and finance purchases get 5,000 free charging miles, while those trading in by March 19 and also taking delivery by end of the month get an extra 5,000 charging miles.
