Tesla Apple Watch App to Unlock Doors? Elon Musk Says ‘Sure’
Tesla’s mobile app supports iOS and Android, but we have yet to gain a native Apple Watch app directly from the company for unlocking and locking doors.
But that might change soon, according to a recent reply from Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
A Tesla owner ‘Danielle’ said earlier this month, “well it finally happened. my phone died & I got locked out of my Tesla ☠️ thankfully the massage place let me use their phone & hubby unlocked it from his phone. Not sure why the car can’t be unlocked using an Apple Watch or other smart watch. any chance this could be incorporated @elonmusk?”.
Sure

Musk ended up replying with a simple, “sure”. We know that “Elon” time can take a while, so it’s unclear when a native Tesla Apple Watch app or other Android watch app will be coming.
In the meantime, there are existing Apple Watch apps that can act as a phone key to lock and unlock your Tesla. For iOS owners, one of the most powerful Apple Watch apps is from Tessie, which is included in the third-party tracking service. What’s great about Tessie is that you can also set up specific schedules and automations, such as for climate, based on day, time and location. This is on top of the app tracking your driving, charging, battery health and more.
