SpaceX’s Falcon 9 Celebrates its 300th Successful Mission
On February 20, 2024, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket achieved its 300th successful mission, launching the Telkomsat Merah Putih 2 satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit.
The launch occurred at 3:11 p.m. ET from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida.
This mission utilized a veteran first stage booster for its 17th flight, a component that has previously supported a variety of missions including CRS-22, Crew-3, Turksat 5B, Crew-4, CRS-25, Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13G, mPOWER-a, PSN SATRIA, and eight Starlink missions. The successful deployment of the Telkomsat Merah Putih 2 mission underscores SpaceX’s commitment to reusability and efficiency in space launches.
The Falcon 9 is the ultimate workhorse for SpaceX. Watching the self-landing first stage on both drone ships and land never gets old.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk celebrated the milestone on X, by saying “Congrats to @SpaceX team!”
