Tesla’s Solar Roof Project Powers New Home Communities
Tesla has embarked on an innovative project, integrating solar roofs into new home constructions, specifically highlighting its partnership with Beazer Homes in the eastern U.S.
The company details the installation of photovoltaic systems designed to blend aesthetics with functionality. Each system, averaging about 14 kW per home, has been installed across 10 homes, totaling approximately 140 kW for the community.
Safety is a top priority in the installation process, with strict guidelines and safety measures like anchor placements and figure-eight knots to ensure the safety of workers on the roofs. Tesla works directly with home builders, providing dedicated services and coordinating with other construction trades. This collaboration ensures that when a home is completed, it comes with a turnkey solar system ready for the new homeowners.
One of the key benefits of these solar roofs is their ability to reduce reliance on the grid. Homeowners can save money in the short and long term, and they are less affected by power outages caused by storms or other disruptions. In addition to the solar roofs, Tesla has also incorporated Powerwall and Tesla Wall Connector into these homes.
Homeowners have expressed a sense of security knowing they have backup power stored in the Powerwall. They also become more energy-conscious, as they can actively monitor their power usage. This awareness extends to educating children about energy conservation and reducing their environmental footprint.
The best time to install Tesla’s Solar Roof is during new construction. This is going to be one happy community that will stay connected and powered by the sun.
