Tesla’s Disney+ App Disappears, How to Get it Back [Update]

Last month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk sat down with Andrew Ross Sorkin at the New York Times DealBook Summit and discussed various topics, including advertiser boycotts on X.
When Musk was asked about advertisers leaving X due to his comments related to an antisemitic post he supported, the owner of the social network said that those boycotting or trying to blackmail him with money could “go f**k” themselves. He repeated this twice during his interview and said after, “Hi Bob”, referring to Disney CEO Bob Iger, with the latter having pulled ads on X.
“I’m sorry for that post,” Musk said in his interview. “It was foolish of me. Of the 30,000 it might be literally the worst and dumbest post I’ve ever done. And I’ve tried my best to clarify six ways from Sunday, but you know at least I think it’ll be obvious that in fact I’m far from being antisemitic.”
Now, it appears as if Tesla is taking action against Disney for pulling its ads on X. The company’s latest 2023.44.30.x holiday software update has a bug where the Disney+ app has disappeared from Tesla Theater for some owners in the U.S.
According to @WholeMarsBlog, installing 2022.44.30.3 removed the Disney+ app from his Tesla’s latest Model S, but it does remain on a Hardware 3 Model S with the same firmware.
I can confirm that Disney+ has been removed from my Tesla Model S.
Strangely, our Hardware 3 Model S on the same firmware still has it. pic.twitter.com/pEZvLU5jLN

Other Tesla owners are seeing Disney+ being gone. Skylar Miles confirmed with Tesla North the 2023.44.30.1 software update removed Disney+ as well on his 2023 Model 3 RWD.
What’s interesting is the Hulu app remains, despite the latter being owned by Disney. Netflix, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Tesla Tutorials are still available in Tesla Theater.
Update: What to do if you still want to watch Disney+ in your Tesla? How to bring back the Disney+ icon? You can load up the browser in Tesla vehicles and punch in the Disney+ website manually. It will then bring back the icon. This is a really weird bug.
Telsa owners with 2023.44.30.3 are seeing the Disney+ app just fine, as noted by @TeslaTruckClub.
Are you seeing Disney+ being removed in the latest holiday software update? So far, we’re already seeing 2023.44.30.4 being released by Tesla, as the company continues to tweak its 2023 holiday software update as it slowly percolates to owners.
