Tesla Axes Buyer Discounts, Offers Free Supercharging for Model 3/Y Referrals

Tesla has revamped the rewards buyers get when using a friend’s referral to buy a new car.

When using a friend’s Tesla referral link, a $250 cash discount on all vehicles is no longer available.

New Model 3 and Model Y buyers will now get 6 months of free Supercharging when using a referral link by December 31, 2023, to go with 3 months of Full Self-Driving capability.

For Model S and Model X buyers through a referral link, they only get 3 months of FSD capability.

These changes come as Tesla is deep into its final quarter and is pushing hard to hit a new annual production record for 2023. We might find more deals coming once December hits as well.
