A24 has confirmed the development of an Elon Musk biopic, with acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky attached to helm the project, reports Variety.
The screenplay will draw inspiration from Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of Musk, published in September. Isaacson is known for his biography of Steve Jobs, which Universal Pictures adapted into a film in 2015, starring Michael Fassbender.
Variety’s sources indicate a fierce competition among studios and filmmakers to secure the rights to Isaacson’s book, with A24 emerging victorious. Aronofsky, recognized for his distinctive and often surreal directing style, is celebrated for films like “Requiem for a Dream,” “Black Swan,” and “Mother!.” His work on “Black Swan” earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Director.
Reacting to the biopic news on X, Musk expressed his approval of Aronofsky’s involvement, stating, “Glad Darren is doing it. He is one of the best.” The initial report of the film’s development was credited to Puck.
