Tesla has expanded its merchandise collection with the introduction of a meticulously crafted 1:18 scale diecast Model Y, now available for purchase on its online shop for $195.
Designed by the Tesla Design Studio, this collector’s item mirrors the actual electric vehicle, utilizing the same 3D CAD data used in the manufacturing of the real Model Y. It’s available in red, blue and white.
The diecast model boasts over 180 individual metal and plastic components, featuring a detailed interior and operational elements such as doors, a front trunk, and a rear liftgate. The model also includes a panoramic glass roof, rubber tires, and steerable wheels. Attention to detail extends to the interior with a carpeted trunk, seat belts made of fabric complete with buckle details, and a realistic dashboard.
The Model Y replica measures 264mm in length, 120mm in width, and stands 90.2mm tall, weighing in at 2.178 lbs (0.988 kg). Tesla cautions that the model contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 14 years old due to a choking hazard.
As of writing, Tesla’s online shop also sells a die cast Semi, Model 3 and Roadster, all priced at $175 USD each. The new Model Y diecast is more expensive and releases just ahead of the holidays.
