Autogefühl’s Thomas Majchrzak recently reviewed the 2024 Tesla Model 3 ‘Highland’ and took a look at the new sedan’s various features, offering a comprehensive look at what’s new and what could be improved, compared to its predecessor.
Here’s an overview of what Majchrzak had to say, as he offers some of the best car reviews on YouTube.
Specific Improvements:
- Noise Insulation: The 2024 model has significantly improved noise insulation, particularly around the windows. “Especially from these windows area all around, I really like that,” said Autogefühl.
- Seating Comfort: The new seats in the 2024 Model 3 are more comfortable, making the car more suitable for long drives. “I could also imagine driving a long way here in the Model 3,” Majchrzak noted.
- Blind Spot Monitor: A new small red lamp serves as a blind spot monitor, a feature that was missing in previous models. “It’s not that large, not that visible, but it is a blind spot monitor,” stated Majchrzak.
- Software Stability: Compared to emerging brands, Tesla’s software is more stable and dialed in. “Here you feel that everything is more dialed, and, yeah, so you feel you get a more finished product definitely here with the Model 3,” he said.
- Economy: The vehicle demonstrated a real range of 500 kilometers or 320 miles, showing decent fuel economy.
Areas for Improvement:
- Autopilot: While the autopilot feature was found to be smooth, the reviewer mentioned that it’s not the best on the market, especially in Europe. “I don’t feel the autopilot system is the best on the market, especially in the Europe,” said Majchrzak.
- Blind Spot Monitor Visibility: The new blind spot monitor’s lamp could be larger for better visibility. “Maybe that lamp could have been a little bit larger,” Autogefühl suggested.
- Steering Wheel Design: Autogefühl’ found the stitching on the steering wheel to be oddly placed, making it noticeable when gripping certain areas. “When you, you know, grab here or something, you always feel it behind the steering wheel.”
- Lack of Head-Up Display: Majchrzak mentioned that having a head-up display would be beneficial for safety. “It is a safety thing, and here, next speed camera, it can also cost you money when, at some point, you’re missing the speed limit and so on,” he said.
