Regent Seven Seas Cruises Partners with Starlink for Internet
Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a leading luxury cruise line, has announced the successful installation of SpaceX’s Starlink internet service on its Seven Seas Mariner ship.
The move aims to provide guests with high-speed, unlimited, and complimentary WiFi, enhancing the onboard experience.
The installation comes ahead of the cruise line’s 2024 World Cruise, set to commence in January. The Seven Seas Grandeur, Regent’s newest ship, will also be equipped with Starlink’s high-speed internet before its launch in November.
“Unlimited WiFi is part of the truly all-inclusive Regent experience. The increased bandwidth provided by Starlink will improve onboard services and operational needs, offering an unrivaled experience for our discerning guests, as well as our talented crew,” said Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, in a statement.
The Starlink service utilizes advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to improve the capacity, speed, and reliability of onboard internet. By the end of 2024, all six ships in Regent’s fleet are expected to be equipped with Starlink, further enhancing connectivity across what the company calls “The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet.”
Regent Seven Seas is a subsidiary of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., which announced it was trialing Starlink back in April across its brands.
