Tesla Milestone: 50,000 Superchargers Worldwide

Tesla recently announced it reached a major milestone: 50,000 Superchargers worldwide.

The company started in September 2012 with 6 Superchargers, but reached the 50,000 milestone this month. “The future is electric,” said Tesla on X, while also sharing a short video:

Tesla boasts the world’s most extensive fast-charging network with over 50,000 Superchargers. Strategically positioned along major highways and close to popular amenities, these Superchargers ensure your Tesla is powered up even when you’re far from home. Simply connect your vehicle and let the automatic charging do its magic.

The Tesla app enhances the charging experience, allowing users to check Supercharger availability, oversee the charging process, and receive notifications once charging is complete. In a mere 15 minutes, Superchargers can replenish up to 200 miles (322 kilometers) of range. Most charging stops are brief since it’s seldom necessary to charge beyond 80%.

Tesla’s advanced charging infrastructure, combined with the impressive range of its vehicles and automatic battery preconditioning, ensures you spend more time driving and less time charging. Input your destination on the car’s touchscreen, and the Trip Planner will craft a route peppered with Superchargers. This tool factors in driving habits, terrain, weather, traffic, and even Supercharger availability to provide a seamless journey from start to finish.

Tesla’s Supercharger network is designed to make long-distance travel cost-effective and convenient. Say goodbye to gasoline expenses, enjoy reduced costs per mile, and embrace the freedom of the open road with Tesla.
