Tesla Proposes Another Service and Sales Center in Miami-Dade
Tesla has put forward plans to establish an additional service and sales center in Doral, marking its third such location within Miami-Dade County.
The proposal is set to be reviewed during a zoning meeting scheduled for August 23 by the City Council. The proposed location for the service and sales center is a warehouse situated at 9950 N.W. 25th St., which Tesla aims to transform into a comprehensive facility encompassing a showroom, service center, and office space for its employees, reports the South Florida Business Journal.
The warehouse, occupying 78,026 square feet, was constructed on a 5.3-acre site back in 1984. EV 9900 LLC, an affiliate of Elion Partners based in North Miami Beach, acquired the property for $19.75 million towards the end of 2021. At the time of acquisition, the warehouse remained unoccupied.
Tesla’s proposal outlines the transformation of the warehouse into a multifunctional facility, featuring 150 parking spaces – 103 situated outside the building and the remaining within its confines. However, the application makes it clear that certain operations such as body painting and battery repair will not take place at this location.
Tesla’s service centers are integral to various operations, including preparing vehicles for buyers, handling returns from leases, and providing maintenance services like tire replacements, software updates, and parts replacements.
The prospective Doral location would complement Tesla’s existing service centers in Coral Gables and Miami Gardens, with the aim of addressing the growing demands posed by Tesla’s expanding presence in South Florida. This growth is exemplified by the fact that Tesla’s dealership in Coral Gables ranked seventh on the Business Journal’s list of largest dealerships in South Florida based on new car sales in 2022. Additionally, Tesla operates service centers in Fort Lauderdale, Delray Beach, and West Palm Beach.
As Tesla continues to experience substantial growth and increased demand for its electric vehicles in South Florida, the proposed service and sales center in Doral signifies the company’s commitment to offering accessible and convenient services to its expanding customer base in the region.
