Tesla has started rolling out its 2023.26.7 and 2023.26.8 software update to more vehicles. But this latest software update seems to be causing a bug with voice navigation, making it not clear and sounding muffled.
According to Tesla North reader Steve, after installing the 2023.26.8 software update last night, his voice navigation is no longer clear and sounds muffled on his 2021 Model 3 RWD. He says he has a Hansshow audio kit upgrade installed, which. may be the culprit.
Check it out below:
Steve reached out to Tesla service and they tried to diagnose the problem remotely. That didn’t fix the problem and a “further electrical diagnostics” is required at a service center, according to a screenshot shared with Tesla North.
There are other Tesla owners also dealing with this issue right now. One possible fix we’ve learned about that has worked is to replace the front body controller, as it was found to be preventing proper power output to the car computer. So if you’re dealing with this navigation voice issue, you may want to suggest this fix to your Tesla rep.
Are you dealing with any issues related to 2023.26.7 or 2023.26.8?

Is anyone having charging issues after 2023.26.8? I have two Grizzl-e chargers and after the update neither unit is charging my Tesla Model Y. However they both are charging my Genesis GV60 without issue. I’ve tried switching adapters, powering both units off and rebooting the Tesla screen but no change. Tomorrow I’ll go to a Supercharger to see if it takes a charge at all.
Im curious to know if this only affects users without the new AMD Ryzen Processer. I installed the Model 3 SR Premium Audio Upgrade – Version A / 2022 (AMD Ryzen Version) / Left Hand Drive (LHD) this past Monday on my 2023 Modal 3 SR. Everything works fine as of now. I am on version 2023.26.7 currently. Im really hoping that this continues to work for me. I did noticed that Hannshow pulled all Audio upgrade from their site. I hope they have work around in the near future.
I developed this same problem but don’t have the mod installed. Tried reset multiple times but navigation voice still sounds like the adults in Charlie Brown. I have 2018 M3 dual motor. Scheduled service for next week. It better be a free fix as it’s obvious it was the software update.
Was it fixed? My 2018 model 3 also had the problem. Service center quoted my $127.5
I had the same problem on an unmodified 2021 Model Y. It took three or four visits to the service center (luckily nearby) but they finally fixed it. Replaced the audio harness, and possibly a computer as well.
