Tesla is gearing up for the unveiling of its newest venture: a Tesla Rental Program in Texas. The automaker’s business development team in Austin is on the hunt for a dedicated Program Manager to lead this ambitious project, according to a job post (via @SawyerMerritt).

Tesla’s business development operational needs have been expanding, and the company is eager to streamline processes, optimize costs, and standardize systems. The primary task of the incoming Program Manager will be to pilot the Tesla Rental Program across all Tesla collision sites in Texas. Notably, the initiative also includes launching the program for Tesla employees at various Texan airports.

Melissa Porche Blakely, Staff Program Manager, Business Development at Tesla, said on Wednesday on LinkedIn, “Big things happening…” as she shared the link to the job post.

This endeavor starts with a smaller-scale pilot, followed by a more extensive launch, ensuring that all sites are fully equipped with the necessary resources, training, and processes. To guarantee the program’s success, the company emphasizes the importance of cross-functional collaboration to automate various processes.

Apart from the Rental Program, the new hire will also focus on Glass Repair Optimization, aiming to reduce repair times and further streamline the collision repair experience. This includes the development of best practices, standardization of tools, and the vision to automate certain processes across all Texas sites.

Candidates interested in the role should possess exceptional organizational skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Outlook and Excel, and demonstrate an aptitude for problem-solving. A passion for overseeing projects from conception to implementation is also a must.

The position is not without its perks. Full-time Tesla employees are offered competitive pay and a suite of benefits from the get-go. This includes multiple medical plan options, dental and vision plans, a 401(k) with employer match, and unique programs like Tesla Babies. The package further provides commuter benefits, pet insurance, and access to an employee discount program.

Tesla’s new Rental Program promises to be an exciting addition to the brand’s offerings in Texas–let’s what and see what comes out of this.
