Fisker Joins Tesla’s North American Charging Standard
Electric automaker Fisker is the latest to join Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), announced on Tuesday. This partnership aims to expand the horizons for Fisker owners, allowing them direct access to Tesla’s vast Supercharger network.
Fisker says the NACS will apply for its 2025 vehicle line up. This significant change is not just symbolic, but also strategic, as it positions Fisker customers to benefit from the expansive reach of Tesla’s 12,000 Supercharger stations spread across the U.S. and Canada.
Starting Q1 2025, Fisker vehicle owners will be equipped with a NACS adapter, enabling them to readily charge their vehicles at any Tesla Supercharger station.
Looking ahead, Fisker also plans to integrate the NACS inlet directly into their vehicle design. As an added advantage, a CCS adapter will also be made available to customers, ensuring they have multiple charging standard options.
This collaboration between Fisker and Tesla underscores a broader vision in the electric vehicle sector, emphasizing convenience, compatibility, and sustainability. The alliance is expected to be a game-changer, especially for Fisker vehicle owners, who will now enjoy broader charging options and the reliability associated with Tesla’s established Supercharger network.
So far, Aptera, Ford, GM, Mercedez-Benz, Nissan, Rivian, Polestar and Volvo have joined NACS, along with numerous third-party charging networks.
