Tesla Launches in Malaysia with Model Y [VIDEO]

One week ago, Tesla kicked off online orders for the Model Y in Malaysia, and today, the company officially held a launch of its debut in the southeast Asian nation.

“Tesla is officially launched in Malaysia,” said Tesla on Thursday.

“Model Y makes its debut and you can now experience the Model Y for the first time at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from today until 31st October. At Tesla, we are committed and excited to help driving a zero emission and greener future for Malaysia,” said the company on Twitter.

Isabel Fan, the Regional Director of Tesla, recently demonstrated her enthusiasm about revealing the latest model, stating it embodies a pivotal stride in Tesla’s ambition to speed up the global shift towards renewable energy.

“We want to make this technology available to as many people as possible. Tesla is not only a car manufacturer but also an energy solution,” she said.

Fan expressed her deep gratitude towards the Malaysian government for their support and assistance in making Tesla’s entrance into the country a reality.

“With the announcement made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, our headquarters will be situated in Cyberjaya,” Fan stated.

In alignment with its dedication to the Malaysian market, Fan assured that Tesla plans to roll out a comprehensive program involving experience centres, customer service and support, and a robust charging infrastructure.

She noted plans for 12 supercharger stations along the North-South Expressway and unveiled Malaysia’s first indoor charging facility at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, equipped with 8 superchargers.

Finally, with prices starting from RM199,000, Tesla customers can anticipate the arrival of Model Y in early 2024.
