SpaceX Adds Starlink Stickers to Hardware Kits–with Cats
SpaceX has started to add a little extra to its latest Starlink hardware boxes, including some cool stickers.
That’s according to the latest unboxing by a customer on Reddit, showcasing the stickers that include the Starlink logo and the company’s dish with cats on top, celebrating a meme that showed how felines low the warm ‘Dishy’. Talk about a CAT-5 Dishy experience.
“I know they’ve been selling stickers from the SpaceX website for a while, but I didn’t know they are also including some in the box with the hardware. This is my 4th hardware purchase and the first time I’ve seen them included!”, said ‘r3dt4rget’.
SpaceX also switched the interior to all cardboard packaging as well, another move towards sustainability.
The move to include stickers in the box is reminiscent of a move from Apple, as the latter includes stickers of its logo with iPhone purchases and more.
For reference, you can see the image above of five cats sitting on the first-gen Starlink dish, which is heated to melt snow. These kitties are smart enough to stay warm in the cold by resting atop the dish. Clever felines.
On Monday, June 12, at 3:10 a.m. ET, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket successfully launched 52 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. The launch took place from the Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.
This mission marked the ninth launch and landing for this particular Falcon 9 first stage booster. In its service history, the booster has supported a variety of missions, including SES-22, ispace’s HAKUTO-R Mission 1, the Hispasat Amazonas Nexus mission, CRS-27, and now, it has completed its fifth Starlink mission.
