Tesla has shared a new video detailing its extreme heat testing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
“Our field quality engineers head to Dubai at the hottest time of the year for extreme heat and durability testing. Temperatures reach over 122°F/50°C”.
Tesla brought a Model Y and Model X Plaid to the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), about 150km north of Dubai. They brought black colors to let the cars “suffer” the most. A variety of tests put the car through the hot weather to stress the vehicles, even going up mountains to 1,400 meters above sea level. They put A/C and cabin overheat protection to the test the entire time.
Both engineering teams from the U.S. and from Giga Berlin worked together to test how Tesla vehicles are able to function in hot climates.
