Tesla has announced the upcoming release of the Model S Plaid Track Package, set to be available in June 2023. Priced between $15,000 and $20,000 USD, this package is designed to provide the ultimate track experience with high-speed stability, maximum cornering force, and repeatable stopping power during high-performance driving, says the company.
The Model S Plaid Track Package includes aluminum forged wheels, track-ready tires and brake fluid, new carbon-silicon carbide rotors, and one-piece forged calipers with high-performance pads. These advanced features unlock a top speed of an insane 200 mph (321 km/h, which is what many Plaid Model S owners have been waiting for.
The rotors, built with continuous-fiber technology and a unique 3D matrix, offer added strength and improved heat management. A ceramic friction layer covers the entire rotor surface, reducing brake dust, corrosion, and wear while enhancing pedal feel for everyday driving.
The package consists of a Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit, which includes front and rear carbon-silicon carbide rotors, one-piece forged front and rear calipers with high-performance brake pads, integrated caliper-mounted parking brakes, track-ready brake fluid, and updated firmware for peak performance. Additionally, it comes with wheel and tire components such as Zero-G wheels and Goodyear Supercar 3R tires, TPMS, Zero-G center caps, tire nut valves, and lug nut covers.
The Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit can also be purchased as a standalone product. It is compatible with Model S Plaid vehicles produced in 2021 or later and can be used with 20” Zero-G and 21” Arachnid wheels, but not with 19” Tempest wheels. The 200 mph top speed is achievable when the Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit and proper wheels and tires are fitted. Let’s go baby!
Tesla cautions against using the Goodyear Supercar 3R tires in temperatures below 40℉ (5℃) or in snow and ice conditions, as they are not recommended for winter use. The package price includes shipping to a preferred Tesla Service Center and installation.
