German Brewery Behind Tesla GigaBier Revealed

Tesla GigaBier

Last month Tesla launched a new limited edition beer brewed in Berlin, called GigaBier.

This special item from the Tesla online store comes with a Cybertruck design inspired bottle, priced at €89. Tesla says this GigaBier is brewed using an exclusive strain of “Cyberhops”, offering notes of citrus, bergamot, and sweet fruit.

These 330 ml (11 oz) bottles feature a seamless gloss black sleeve with a glow-in-the-dark Giga watermark. The beer is sold in packs of three and is available for purchase by adults only. Ingredients include water, malted barley, “Cyberhops”, and yeast, but nowhere does it say where this beer is from.

Well, according to German publication MOZ (via @Berlinergy), unnamed sources say the brewery behind GigaBier is BRLO Brwhouse, based at Gleisdreieck in Berlin Kreuzberg.

The unique brewhouse was constructed from 38 recycled shipping containers, while also focusing on a low carbon footprint in both its production and supply chain partners, while also supporting various climate projects.

“As a Berlin brewery and gastronomy company, we stand for modern beer diversity and distinctive experiences. By the way, BRLO is the old Slavic name for Berlin and can only be pronounced without mistakes after a few beers,” says the BRLO website, which states it was founded in 2014, with Michael Lembke as its brewmaster.

BRLO’s founders are Katharina Kurz, Christian Laase, and Lembke, while managing director Ben Pommer joined in 2016.

So the next time you’re enjoying your GigaBier, see if you can figure out which brew from BRLO Brewhouse it’s from.
