

Tesla has launched new colour options for Model S and Model X, debuting Ultra Red.
The old Red Multi-Coat is no longer available and Ultra Red looks to bring a slightly deeper tone versus the previous colour. The Ultra Red paint option costs $3,000 USD for Model S and Model X, which is a $500 USD price increase compared to before at $2,500 USD (in Canada it’s now $4,000 versus $3,300 before).
Here’s how Ultra Red on the Model X looks like compared to Midnight Cherry Red on the Model Y (only in Europe and the Middle East) made at Gigafactory Berline, below:

You can see both paint colours have some slightly darker hues but Midnight Cherry Red does have a different colour.
It will be interesting if Tesla will add Ultra Red for the Model 3 and Model Y soon as well. Fingers crossed.
