SpaceX Launches Starlink in Reunion; Business Plans Cut by 50% in AUS, NZ
SpaceX has launched Starlink internet in the French overseas territory of Reunion, the remote island located in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar and southwest of Mauritius.
According to SpaceX’s Starlink availability map, it has been updated for La Réunion to show as “available”, noted Tesla North reader Nathan Owens on Wednesday.
SpaceX continues to expand its Starlink satellite internet around the globe, while constantly making price changes to the service as well.
For Starlink Business, SpaceX has dropped monthly service prices by up to 50% in both Australia and New Zealand, according to Owens.
- Australia monthly pricing: $374 AUD (about $264 USD; was $750 AUD); hardware $3,740 AUD (was $3,895 AUD)
- New Zealand monthly pricing: $426 NZD (about $275 USD; was $840 NZD) hardware $4,200 NZD (was $4,375 NZD)

SpaceX launched Starlink Premium for businesses back in February 2022, offering more than double the antenna capability of residential service.
The next Starlink launch is slated for Thursday, February 2 at 2:43 a.m. ET (7:43 UTC) for a Falcon 9 launch of 53 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
This Falcon 9 booster previously launched CRS-24, Eutelsat HOTBIRD 13F, OneWeb 1, and one Starlink mission. It will be landing on the A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship in the Atlantic Ocean, after first stage separation.
