Tesla Opens 12 V3 Superchargers in New Haven, Connecticut, Near IKEA [Update]
Tesla has launched a new V3 Supercharger at the Hotel Marcel in New Haven, Connecticut.
There are 12 V3 charging stalls and the location is in the parking lot of the newly renovated Hotel Marcel. Tesla North reader Paul Braren let us know the New Haven Supercharger is online as of today.
Also at the far end of the parking lot is an IKEA location. News of this New Haven Supercharger first was noticed back in January of this year.
The 12 Tesla Superchargers face other Level 2 chargers under a solar canopy, with the latter being EVConnect chargers with J1772 connectors, according to the EV Club of CT. Anyone Supercharging will have a covered walk to the front door of the Hotel Marcel.
Back in July, construction at the New Haven Supercharger saw an unfortunate setback when thieves cut off the pedestal cables, likely for the valuable copper wiring inside.
The opening of the new New Haven Supercharger comes ahead of the busy Thanksgiving weekend, while its location is convenient near I-95.

Earlier today, Tesla announced it had reached a milestone of 40,000 Superchargers globally–and counting.
Update Nov. 23: while one charger was working, the site is off and still awaiting to be fully turned on, according to the latest details shared by EV Club of Connecticut and Braren.
Today, this new site at 500 Sargent Drive in New Haven showed up in the Tesla app briefly with current status (0 of 12), and is now missing from the app, so work is likely ongoing.
