Rivian has announced its Q3 2022 production and delivery numbers on Monday.
The Irvine, California-based company said it produced 7,363 R1T pickup truck and R1S SUVs at its factory in Normal, Illinois, for the quarter ending on September 30, 2022. That’s a 67% increase compared to the year-ago quarter.
Rivian said there are 6,584 vehicles delivered in Q3.
According to Rivian, it believes it is still on track to deliver 25,000 annual electric vehicles, based on its previous guidance. In order to hit this goal, Rivian must produce 10,687 cars in Q4 to achieve its goal.
Rivian will announce its Q3 earnings later this month and has yet to announce the date. In Q2, Rivian reported losses of $1.7 billion and said it expected to see a $5.4 billion loss in 2022.
Ramping up electric vehicle production proves to be a challenging feat for startups such as Rivian. On Sunday, Tesla announced its Q3 saw a record 365,923 cars made and 343,830 delivered.
