Tesla FSD Beta 10.13 Coming Next Week; FSD Beta 11.0 ‘Hopefully’ in August: Musk

Tesla CEO Elon Musk provided an update on the next release of Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta on Wednesday night.

When asked by FSD beta tester James Locke when version 11.0 would be released, Musk replied, “[FSD] 10.13 goes to internal beta tomorrow, external next week. Should handle Chuck’s complex left turn.”

Musk’s reference to “Chuck” is actually Chuck Cook from Florida, whose infamous FSD beta videos on YouTube have put unprotected left turns to the ultimate test.

“Wow! Thank you for this work @elonmusk,” replied an ecstatic Cook. “I have seen the [advanced driver-assistance systems] drivers gathering data. Can’t wait to give it a spin!” added Cook.

“Crazy to get focused attention. Glad the videos proved helpful in showing the issues I was seeing,” said Cook, when someone mentioned his famous unprotected left turns “from hell” versus FSD beta.

As for FSD beta version 11.0 and its release date? Musk answered, “Beta v11 hopefully end of next month, which just amounts to incorporating highway. Importance of “v11” has been reduced by all the 10.x releases. We’re already mostly at v11.”

So essentially Musk is saying FSD beta 11.0 is “mostly” here, with these 10.x releases. It’ll be very interesting to see if FSD beta 10.13 will be able to handle Cook’s tough unprotected left turn. Stay tuned for the video in the next week or so.
