
Tesla hit a milestone on Friday, reaching 35,000 Superchargers worldwide. The announcement was made by the Tesla China team, as the 35,000th Supercharger was opened in Wuhan, China, at the Dongxihu Tesla Center.
“We achieved a new milestone. The 35,000th Supercharger landed in Wuhan, China today. Tesla, owns the largest fast-charging network in the world,” said the Tesla China team on Twitter.
The first Tesla Supercharger opened back in September 2012 at the company’s design studio in Los Angeles, California. In June 2018, Tesla reached 10,000 Superchargers, hit 20,000 in November 2020 and 30,000 one year later, to now reach 35,000 in June 2022.
As of the company’s Q1 2022 earnings release on April 20, Tesla reported 3,724 Supercharger stations, up 38% year-over-year, showing some major growth. At the time, Tesla said it had 33,657 Supercharger connectors, up 37% year-over-year, showing similar growth as its stations.
