Tesla’s referral program has lowered the reward for certain solar products.
When a customer signs up for Solar Roof and Solar Panels using a friend’s referral link, they can get credits. The update spotted by @Tesla_Adri sees the Solar Roof referral drop to $300 USD (was $500), matching the Solar Panel referral amount, also at $300 USD (unchanged).
“At this time, orders for Solar Roof and Solar Panels are eligible for the Referral Program. To earn Referral awards, Solar Roof and Solar Panels orders must be placed through your unique referral link. Note that referrals cannot be added after an order is placed, and awards are granted after the energy system receives permission to operate on the grid from your utility,” explains Tesla’s website.
“Friends and family who order through your referral link can earn $300 for Solar Roof or Solar Panels upon permission to operate, while also reducing reliance on the grid and producing clean solar energy. You will earn $300 for each Solar Roof or Solar Panels referral,” explains the company.
Back in September 2021, Tesla ended its referral program offering free Supercharging miles, “until further notice.”
