Llandrillo College and its RHYL campus located north of Wales in the United Kingdom have added a Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus to its sustainable campus fleet.
The Center for Automotive Technology recently took delivery of the Model 3, which cost £40,000. So far, close to £100,000 has been invested in the college’s electric/hybrid fleet, reports the Rhyl Journal.
“The response from our students to the Tesla’s arrival has been a joy to watch,” said tutor Garry Roberts. “The college is building an impressive stock of electric and hybrid vehicles to meet the demands of the future,” added Roberts, noting “the college’s resources are the best that I have seen within industry for training purposes.”
“We are delighted to have been able to purchase such a high specification vehicle as the Tesla,” said Alwyn Jones, Coleg Llandrillo’s programme area manager for engineering and motor vehicle. The Tesla addition will now help bring forth EV/hybrid courses to the industry, said Jones.
Back in March, Rhyl College celebrated the arrival of the Model 3, none other than by sharing a video of the Tesla’s ‘Light Show’ on Twitter:

The Welsh government’s net zero funding helped purchase the Model 3, which joins the existing fleet consisting of a Toyota Prius Hybrid, BMW 13 EV range, VW Golf plug-in hybrid, and Nissan Leaf.
