A new round of price increases are here from Tesla, as it has increased its Model 3 and Model Y by $1,000 USD in the U.S., depending on the configuration (via @SawyerMerritt).
Check out the price increases below…
Model 3
- RWD – $44,990 USD (no change)
- Long Range – $51,990 USD (+$1,000)
- Performance – $58,990 USD (no change)
Model Y
- Long Range – $59,990 USD (+$1,000)
- Performance – $64,990 USD (+$1,000)
Estimated delivery dates have also been pushed back a month to September and May 2022 for the Long Range and Performance Model Y, respectively.
The price changes also appear to affect Tesla in China as well, as prices for the Model 3 Performance and Model Y Long Range and Performance have increased by 10,000 RMB.
It’s unclear what has spurred these price increases, but recently the price of nickel has surged, a key component of EV battery cells. The last price increase from Tesla occurred back on November 11, 2021.
The price increases have also taken place in Canada, China and Europe.
