Model Y owners living in places with tough cold weather climates are now eligible to get a new All-Weather Protection Kit by Tesla, free of charge.
Many people living in the US and Canada have received an email from Tesla telling them that they can order their complimentary Model Y All-Weather Protection Kit by entering an exclusive promo code at checkout.

This code can take some time to be valid so don’t fret if it doesn’t work the first time you enter it. Model 3 owners received a similar email in 2019 after many of them reported fast paint degradation.
The purpose of the All-Weather Protection Kit is to “reduce the risk of paint damages from stone chips in areas where heavy salt, sand or gravel is used to improve winter road conditions”.
For people living in regions with harsh weather, this kit is a godsend. The kit costs $110 USD and includes 2 clear protective films for rear fenders, 2 front mud flaps, 1 squeegee, and installation hardware.
If you’re a Model Y owner, then you should check your email. If you haven’t received anything, you should contact Tesla’s local service center. Model Ys sold in some regions of Canada and the U.S. after August 2021 came pre-installed with protection kits.
