As electric vehicles (EVs) become the new standard for automakers going forward, one legacy automaker has joined the pledge to go electric in the years to come.

Chrysler announced plans to go all-electric by 2028, beginning with an EV in 2025, as shown in a concept released by the company at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on Wednesday, according to CNBC.

The Airflow EV concept car shared at CES was called “a nod” to an upcoming production vehicle Chrysler plans to release in 2025 by Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell – also the first of two or three new EVs set for release by 2028.

In an interview online, Feuell said, “When we sought to redefine and revitalize the Chrysler brand, we needed to make sure that we were creating differentiation within the Stellantis portfolio as well as compared to competition.”

Feuell continued, “We will be adding one new product per year once we launch our first new product … and expanding that lineup between then and 2028.”

Among the EVs, Feuell also said there will be one minivan released in the initial group of EVs and that much of the funding will come from $35.5 billion USD its parent company Stellantis has dedicated to electrification across brands.
