Tesla has updated its entry Model 3 rear-wheel drive in China, as noted by @42how_.

The updated Model 3 has increased in price by 15,000 RMB to 250,900 RMB. Also, the range has increased from NEDC 486 km to the China light-duty vehicle test cycle (CLTC)556 km. CLTC was created by the China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC) to replace European fuel economy and emissions testing in the country, known as New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).

The vehicle now has acceleration from 0-100 km in 6.1 seconds, compared to 5.6 seconds from before. The car also now includes a heated steering wheel and also heated rear seats, like other Model 3 vehicles in North America.

Just last week, the entry Tesla Model Y in China was updated with increased range based on CLTC, while also receiving a slower 0-100km range of 6.9 seconds (versus 5.6 seconds previously). The entry Model Y saw its CLTC range increase to 545 km.

Like the entry Model Y, which saw ‘Standard Range’ dropped from its name, the same has also happened for the entry Model 3 in China as well.

The news comes on the first day of the 19th annual Guangzhou International Auto Exhibition.
