“I will abide by the results of this poll, whichever way it goes,” explained Musk.
Musk is one of the richest people on the planet with his wealth tied to Tesla stock, which is currently at an all-time high. The White House is proposing a tax on the wealthy like Musk to help pay for the government’s social and climate change plans.
Note, I do not take a cash salary or bonus from anywhere. I only have stock, thus the only way for me to pay taxes personally is to sell stock.

As of June 30, Musk owns 170.5 million Tesla shares and selling 10% would result in nearly $21 billion for the CEO, as of Friday’s closing of $1,222.09 per share, reports Reuters.
