Tesla has launched a new Wall Connector for purchase in its online shop, as the J1772 Gen 2 Wall Connector is now available for purchase at $415 USD (via @Chad18945).
“Charge your electric vehicle at home with the J1772 Gen 2 Wall Connector, a convenient home charging solution for electric vehicle owners. Simply plug in overnight and charge while you sleep,” explains Tesla.

“Providing up to 9.6 kW (40 amp) power output for a single vehicle, the J1772 Gen 2 Wall Connector includes a 24-foot (7.3 meter) cable length, multiple power settings and a versatile indoor/outdoor design,” notes the product description.
The J1772 Gen 2 Wall Connector qualifies for a 30% Federal tax credit in the United States for most customers. Tesla says to consult with your tax professional regarding IRS form 8911.
This Tesla Wall Connector would be suitable for Tesla network destination charging locations, as the J1772 plug is commonly used by other non-Tesla electric vehicles. Tesla vehicles use a proprietary Tesla connector, but vehicles purchased include a J1772 adapter, which can be connected to this Wall Connector.
