Tesla FSD Beta Request Button Coming Next Week with Version 10.1 Says Musk
On early Friday morning, Tesla released software update 2021.24.16, an update for Full Self-Driving beta testers, delivering 10.0.1.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said this morning, “Good feedback from FSD Beta 10 users! 10.0.1 point release rolling out now.”
He also added, “10.1 rolls out a week from Friday with beta request button.” The beta request button is for select owners with Full Self-Driving purchased to try FSD beta.
But it won’t be so easy as just tapping a button to get FSD beta. Musk explained, “Beta button will request permission to assess driving behavior using Tesla insurance calculator. If driving behavior is good for 7 days, beta access will be granted.”

Again, this sounds like a calm and safe roll out of FSD to new beta testers. The situation may be frustrating for Tesla owners that invested $10,000 for FSD, but have yet to try the Autosteer for city streets, which is the major draw of the beta software at the moment.
Elon, early access people and those who bought FSD years ago should be given priority (as promised) some consideration. It’s the right thing to do

Given how some media outlets like to jump on any negative press when it comes to Tesla and Autopilot, it’s clear the company is again emphasizing a safe rollout of the test software. But that approach may not leave all Tesla owners happy with the decision.
