YouTube channel DragTimes has shared a new video showcasing its 2021 Tesla Model S Plaid versus the Porsche Taycan Turbo S on the drag strip, in a 1/4 mile race.
Previously, the Taycan Turbo S was able to defeat the Model S Performance, but now that the Model S Plaid is here, this is a whole new ballgame.
The video below has the Model S Plaid with a 90% state of charge easily defeat the Taycan Turbo S (100% state of charge) in three races, with the Tesla running the 1/4 mile in the low 9s each time. It wasn’t even close.
The Model S Plaid was so impressive, a Taycan Turbo S owner watching the races immediately ordered one on his iPhone after seeing the Tesla smoke the Porsche. A Model S Plaid costs $124K USD, while the Porsche costs $218K USD.
For now, the Model S Plaid continues to impress at the drag strip, beating more expensive supercars, while the Tesla costs a fraction of the price. With the Model S Plaid set to potentially get even faster via software update, it looks to keep slaying cars at the track.
