Tesla Model S Plaid Review by WSJ: ‘Technical Tour de Force’

Tesla’s Model S Plaid recently was reviewed by Dan Neil, the veteran and award-winning automotive columnist for The Wall Street Journal.

Neil’s review of the Model S Plaid was first published back on June 24, but was shared today by Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Twitter and also retweeted by the official Tesla account.

In a nutshell, Neil writes, “though largely unchanged on the outside, Tesla’s new Model S is a technical tour de force: the fastest, hardest-accelerating, most aero-efficient production sedan ever.”

In the paywalled review, Neil says “not enough has been said about its lateral acceleration, its race car-like roadholding and mechanical grip,” referring to the Model S Plaid. He says the “custom-compounded Michelin Pilot Cup Sport 4S, on 21-inch wheels—they are so…beautiful.”

If you have a subscription to the Wall Street Journal, Neil’s glowing review of the Model S Plaid is worth checking out.

“The upgraded electric vehicle, priced starting around $130,000, is meant to jolt interest in an increasingly crowded market,” details the columnist.

Tesla’s Model S Plaid starts at $129,990 USD and currently has a delivery timeline of August.
