Electrify Canada Offering Free EV Charging on Earth Day Nationwide
Electrify Canada has announced it will offer Canadians free electrical vehicle charging on Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, at all of its fast-charging stations nationwide.
The Volkswagen subsidiary says it will not charge EV drivers for charging sessions from:
- 12:00am EDT April 22 through 3:00am EDT April 23
“Driving electric is an impactful action consumers can take to help reduce their carbon footprint and Electrify Canada is excited to celebrate this by offering free charging sessions on Earth Day,” said Giovanni Palazzo, president of Electrify Canada, in an issued statement to Tesla North.
“We are proud to help lead an electric vehicle revolution by enabling electric transportation for Canadians, on Earth Day and every day,” added Palazzo.
Electrify Canada has 22 charging stations across B.C., Alberta, Ontario and Quebec, with each station containing four chargers with speeds up to 150kW and 350kW. The company says it plans to have 32 stations and a total of 128 chargers by the end of this year.
The company says EV drivers can locate a charging station by visiting its website and also use the hashtag #ChargeOnEarth “to help foster grassroots support for Earth Day.”
