According to Current Taxi, which operates in Victoria and Kelowna, it saved 32,349 kilograms of C02 emissions entering our atmosphere last month, equivalent to 535 trees saved, explains the company.

Since the company’s inception, 1,015,296 kg of C02 emissions have been saved by its electric Tesla taxi fleet.

Current Taxi operates a fleet of Tesla Model S, Model X and Model 3 electric vehicles, and has an app to allow customers to book rides up to 30 days in advance.

The company is based in Kelowna, but expanded to B.C.’s capital city, Victoria, in December 2019. At the time, CEO Dale Conway said the company had already placed a pre-order for Tesla’s Cybertruck to join the fleet, which offers rates the same as other cab companies.
