SpaceX Delays Weekend Starlink Satellite Launch Until End of Next Week

SpaceX was set to launch 60 more Starlink satellites into orbit this weekend, but the company announced on Friday it was standing down until next week.

“Standing down from this weekend’s launch attempt of Starlink from LC-39A for additional inspections before flying one of our fleet-leading boosters, as the team continues to drive toward a separate Falcon 9 launch of Starlink from SLC-40 at the end of next week.”

SpaceX launched 60 more Starlink satellites on Thursday for its Starlink-18 mission, and was planning to launch 60 more later that day. The latter has since been delayed until next week with a future launch date to be determined.

Recently, SpaceX revealed in a filing to the FCC it plans to eventually launch a phone service as well via Starlink, which surely will extend the company’s communication portfolio beyond high-speed internet.
