SpaceX Delays Falcon 9 Starlink Launch Again, Now Set for Jan. 20

Just when you thought SpaceX was set for its Falcon 9 launch of 60 Starlink satellites tomorrow, think again.

On Monday evening, SpaceX announced it has delayed its Falcon 9 launch to allow for more pre-launch inspections. It’s critical for SpaceX to make sure the proper inspections are in place for a successful launch.

“To allow additional time for pre-launch inspections, now targeting Wednesday, January 20 at 8:02 a.m. EST for launch of Starlink,” said SpaceX.

Falcon 9 was set to launch on Tuesday, January 19 at 8:23am EST, so the delay to Wednesday is just under 24 hours.

The January 20 Falcon 9 launch will take place at Kennedy Space Center Launch Complex 39, on Merritt Island in Florida. Falcon 9 will land on the company’s autonomous drone ship, named “Just Read the Instructions”, in the Atlantic Ocean.

Starlink internet is currently in beta, available for a limited number of testers in the U.S., Canada and recently the UK.
