A new video from BatteryBro has put the 2021 Tesla Model 3 refresh (Standard Range Plus) with heat pump to a cold weather range test on the highway.
The test was conducted at 70 mph at 28F or -2C, which is cold, but not super freezing out. Nonetheless, BatteryBro was able to squeeze 210 miles (337 km) from 100% to 0% on his battery, while driving at 70 mph (112 km/h).
“I had the seat heater on for most of the drive,” explains BatteryBro. “I did have the ambient heater off for the whole drive. I was able to be in the cabin comfortably as the interior temp was 54F at [its] coldest at the end of the trip. The seat heater made up for this low interior temp.”
“I plan to make another video with the range test under less ideal conditions but I wanted to post the best possible case here (pre-heated battery + no heater + brand new battery),” says BatteryBro.
The video is just one demonstration of the 2021 Model 3 SR+, but it’s worth checking out if you’re a new owner of one of these vehicles.
