Tesla Holiday Software Update 2020: More to Come Says Elon Musk
On Christmas Day, Tesla delivered its 2020 holiday software update, version 2020.48.26, which added a plethora of new features.
Aside from three new games, Tesla owners also gained a new Boombox feature, to let them play media outside with their vehicle’s speaker, when parked.
While CEO Elon Musk had promised the holiday update would deliver numerous goodies, he clarified today the update was only half complete, and more is coming.
“It’s one Fire or 1/2 Fire if you don’t have a car with pedestrian speaker. We couldn’t get everything done in time, but more stuff coming,” said Musk on Friday.

As for Teslas without the pedestrian speaker? Musk clarified, “Unfortunately, pedestrian speaker is needed, otherwise no external sound generator except actual horn.”

Musk was eager to promote the new Boombox feature today as well:

When asked if Teslas would soon be able to talk, Musk responded, “it’s a step in that direction.”
