
When will Tesla launch deliveries of its third row Model Y? The company’s website states a “Seven Seat Interior Available in 2021.”
The third row will add an extra two seats to the Model Y, allowing for seven passengers total. There has been some debate as to which way these seats are facing, giving the limited room in the trunk of the Model Y.
Sandy Munro posited the third-row seats would be rear-facing in a video back in April, setting off debate of what’s actually true.
Now, according to the latest video from i1Tesla, at the 3:40 mark below, shows more evidence the seats are forward-facing, shown in his Model Y’s visualization:
From Tesla’s own Model Y promo video, you can see the third row with forward-facing seats. It’s indisputable at this point that these seats will be front-facing, as seen in our screenshot below:

The third row will most likely only fit smaller people like young children, as it’ll be a tight squeeze for adults to sit in the back.
