SpaceX Cargo Dragon has successfully docked automatically to the International Space Station (ISS), after being launched into orbit on Sunday by the Falcon 9 booster.
“Success! At 1:40pm ET, @SpaceX’s upgraded Dragon cargo spacecraft autonomously docked to the @Space_Station,” wrote NASA on Monday.
“This is the 1st automated docking for a SpaceX cargo resupply mission & the 1st time two Dragon spacecraft are on station simultaneously,” said NASA.

Cargo Dragon will stay docked to the ISS for one month and aside from bringing resupply gear and science gear totalling over 6,400 pounds, it will also include a holiday menu full of goodies for the existing ISS crew, including:
- Cherry blueberry cobbler
- Cornbread dressing
- Cranapple dessert
- Jellied cranberry sauce
- Macaroni and cheese
- Potatoes au gratin
- Roasted turkey
- Shortbread cookies
- Southwestern corn
- Sparkle gel
- Spicy green beans
- French vanilla cappuccino
- Wheat flat bread
Now that’s quite the menu to spread some holiday cheer to the ISS crew.
