Tesla’s Giga Berlin Construction Update for August 5 Gets Timelapse Treatment

Tobias Lindh has shared another construction update of Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany, showing more progress at the site.

This latest video is a timelapse of construction from August 5, 2020, filmed in the air by drone. According to Lindh, the building to house production of drive units looks to be taking shape, with a roof becoming visible.
In late July, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said, “Giga Berlin will come together at an impossible-seeming speed. The prefabricated construction method in Germany is extremely impressive.”
When Giga Berlin is completed in 2021, it’s expected to produce Model Y for Europe, while also possibly be home to a new smaller version of the SUV for the European market, according to Musk.
